Does my private health insurance cover COVID-19 vaccine?
Not only COVID-19, but all vaccines are considered preventive care and therefore not covered by private health insurance. However, COVID-19 vaccines are provided free of charge to all Spanish residents in order of national vaccination plan. Does this health insurance cover everything that is required for residency application?
Yes, all health insurance options we offer on this website are 100% compatible with residency application (all visa types).
What if I need the health insurance for only 2 months?
All health insurance contracts in Spain are for a minimum of 1 year.
Can I go to the doctor the day after taking out my health insurance Policy?
Yes, from the first day that the Policy takes effect.
When I will receive my Policy and cards?
Your cards will be sent you by insurer in the beginning of month when insurance policy will commence. Please let us know your address in Spain where to send them to. If arranged previously, it is also possible to pick up your Policy at our office in Valencia Av. Puerto 189, 3 A1.
What happens if my policy documents have not yet arrived and I need to use the insurance?
Please contact us and we will send you confirmation of your policy. When you enter a clinic or hospital simply present the confirmation at reception and everything will be taken care of for you.
Is there a Waiting Period?
All policies including the new ones have no waiting period. Everything is covered from day one.
What are the coverage limits and deductibles?
Any insurance solution we offer to expats has no deductibles and no coverage limits in Spain.
Can I have a mammogram?
Yes, this is covered from day one.
Which payment methods do you accept?
If you are already in Spain and have a Spanish bank account, we set up a monthly draft from your account. However, if you need to pay for a longer period than a month (visa application) we offer wire transfer option.
Will Private Insurance Cover me in any Spanish Social Security Hospital as well?
Only when you are admitted to a Social Security Hospital as an Emergency. Your Insurer must be advised within 72 hours of your admission so that they can settle your bill and then transfer you to a private hospital if clinically possible.
Is repatriation included?
To keep the cost as low as possible repatriation to any other country except for Spain is not included in our Health Insurance policy. However, we will send you a separate quotation for repatriation if you select that option in the quote request.
What about pre-existing conditions?
Most insurance companies in Spain would exclude pre-existing conditions. We are able to offer a solution that cover majority of pre-existing conditions.
Paying for medical services?
When seeking for medical care, the medical staff will identify you and charge the insurance company directly, and you won’t be asked to pay anything when being attended.
