This is the largest market with fresh produce in Europe in a beautiful modernist building that you can’t miss. There are more than 1200 stalls with fresh fruit, meat, seafood, produce, and even live eels. There is a slogan among the market traders, “if you do not find it here, it may not exist.” This is proven among the wide variety of products offered in the market. Ranging from local traditional cuisine to latest food trends. There are several stalls that don’t sell food! Ceramics, books, old coins, and many more trinkets or collectibles can also be found at the market.
One especially unique factor about the market is that you can buy fresh food and have chefs cook it for you. There are certain restaurants that participate in this special offer and all you have to do is buy the food and bring it to the chefs. For a small fee, they will prepare it in a traditional way and serve it to you.
Something extremely important to keep in mind is that the market is not open in the late afternoon. It is also closed on Sundays, as most grocery stores are as well. The market is located at the city’s center and is easily accessible by bus, walking, or underground metro. This is a must see in Valencia, trust me your tastebuds will thank you!
