We inform Asefa policyholders that, starting from July 1st, 2023, all health policyholders of Asefa Seguros became policyholders of Sanitas. The transfer operation of the Health and Accidents portfolio from Asefa to Sanitas was approved by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
Therefore, Sanitas is their new health insurance company from that date. All former Asefa policyholders received information to make the most of their insurance and use Sanitas‘ services. Specifically:
• Each policyholder of Asefa health policy received a new card, a single card that gives them access to all services, in physical or digital format.
• Additionally, with their card number, policyholders can register and access Mi Sanitas, the app where they can perform all the necessary tasks to take care of their health: appointments, administrative procedures, video consultations, etc.
• Policyholders were provided with new contact phone numbers for customer support, emergency assistance, etc.
• A usage guide was provided with all the information on how to access the services.
This change of company did not entail any variation in the cost of their insurance. Policyholders now have access to one of the broadest networks of healthcare providers and hospitals in Spain, and they continue to have the same coverage, in addition to accessing digital healthcare services, in which Sanitas is a leader.
Policyholders are informed that, in accordance with the applicable regulations regarding the protection of personal data, due to this change, their personal data derived from the insurance contract has been processed by Sanitas since July 1st, 2023, and Sanitas is responsible for its processing, with the main purpose of ensuring the proper execution of the insurance contract. Additional information (which they are invited to consult) regarding the processing of their personal data, including international transfers, is available at www.sanitas.es/RGPD.
Policyholders can exercise their rights of access, rectification, opposition, erasure, restriction, portability, and not be subject to automated decisions through the means indicated in the additional information available on the aforementioned website.
Sanitas, as a specialist in the Health sector, assumed the entire Health insurance portfolio, while Asefa Seguros continues to exclusively operate in the branches targeted at the construction industry, which have been part of its DNA for over 50 years.
