Sanitas health insurance in Spain: an overview

Sanitas health plans: the Más Salud tiers compared

Sanitas offers three main health packages: Sanitas Más Salud Optimal (More Optimal Health), Sanitas Más Salud Plus (More Health Plus) and Sanitas Más Salud (More Health). All three include primary medicine and medical specialties, diagnostic tests and simple and complex therapeutic methods, surgical interventions and hospitalisation, emergency cover when travelling abroad, personalised digital health plans and video consultations, and dental coverage.

The difference between them is how copayments work:

• Sanitas Más Salud Optimal — applies copayments on services, which brings the monthly premium down.
• Sanitas Más Salud Plus — also applies copayments, but the first 6 services each year are free of charge and the remaining visits are charged at a reduced copayment.
• Sanitas Más Salud — no copayments at all.

⚠️ Note for visa applicants: only the no-copay Más Salud tier (Sanitas More Health) meets Spanish visa and residence-permit requirements. Plans with copayments will be rejected by consulates.

Supporting healthcare innovation, Sanitas health insurance plan includes digital health services such as video consultations or home delivery of medications. You will also have access to Sanitas app, where you can manage your medical appointments, access reports, prescriptions, or medical tests, and even measure your vital signs through facial imaging.
