Prosthesis
The prescription and fitting of all prostheses, both internal and external, will be paid for by the insurer. As for the cost of the prosthesis itself, it will be paid by the insurer in the following cases:
- Ophthalmology: intraocular lens.
- Traumatology and Orthopaedics: hip prosthesis, knee prosthesis, prosthesis of other joints, spinal fixation, intervertebral discs, intervertebral interposition material, vertebroplasty/ kyphoplasty, ligament prosthesis.
- Cardiovascular: vascular stents (stent, by pass), heart valves, pacemakers, coronary stents.
- General surgery: synthetic mesh, breast prostheses and expanders (provided that there is previous tumour surgery on the breast).
Therapeutic Aids
- Chemotherapy and oncological radiation: healthcare assistance will be provided as an inpatient or day hospital patient.
- Ophthalmic laser therapy:
- For photocoagulation treatments in Ophthalmology.
- Musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Coloproctology and gynaecological surgery.
- Green, Holmium or Thulium laser: exclusively for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
- Genetic testing: amniocentesis, karyotype and triple screening.
- Percutaneous Nucleotomy.
- Oxygen therapy: will be covered on a home-based basis in acute cases and for a maximum period of 12 months.
- Physiotherapy and rehabilitative treatment:
- For diseases of the locomotor system, as well as lymphatic drainage: 40 sessions per year.
- Shock waves for musculotendinous calcifications: 5 sessions per year.
- Pelvic floor rehabilitation: a single treatment of 10 sessions.
- Vestibular rehabilitation: 5 sessions per year.
- Speech therapy: 40 sessions per year.
- Dialysis and artificial kidney: in cases of acute pathology.
- Renal lithotripsy.
- Epidural anaesthetics.
- Pain treatment: implanted ports for pain treatment are included.
- Podiatry: 5 sessions of chiropody are included per insured and per year.
- Psychology: psychological care of an individual and temporary nature, prescribed by a psychiatrist or paediatrician from the medical team. 20 sessions per year.
- Radiofrequency for treating turbinate hypertrophy.
